It all began on a cold December night in Dallas, Texas, in 2016. Another ordinary day: 9 to 5 at work, come home, dinner, Netflix, sleep. Rinse and repeat.
But that night, something unusual happened.
Just before bed, scrolling through Twitter, I landed on a few motivational tweets from Tai Lopez. I had read his words many times before, but this night they hit differently.
I suddenly saw my life for what it was: a routine without meaning. A life on autopilot. I wasn’t creating, I wasn’t inspired, I wasn’t proud of how I was living.
And in that discomfort, a strange decision came to me: “Tomorrow, I’ll wake up at 4 a.m. No matter what.”
That one decision altered the course of my life.
The Hidden Treasure I Stumbled Upon
At 4 a.m. the next morning, I had no plan. Unsure what to do, I searched online for “books successful entrepreneurs read.” One title stood out everywhere: Think and Grow Rich.
Until then, I had never read a single book cover to cover. But this one—I read like scripture. Every line felt personal, as though it was written for me alone.
For three mornings straight, from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m., I devoured it. And in those quiet hours, I realized I had stumbled upon a hidden treasure. Not wealth. Not success. But knowledge.
And once I found it, I couldn’t stop.
Over the months, I became a voracious reader. The library became my second home. I soaked up self-help, business, spirituality—anything that could stretch my mind. My soul, starved for years, was finally being fed.
Chasing Success, Still Feeling Empty
Armed with this newfound wisdom, I leapt into entrepreneurship. Between 2016 and 2019, I tried it all—e-commerce, real estate, telecom, importing from China, digital marketing, stocks, crypto.
On the outside, it looked like success. On the inside, I was restless, anxious, and drained.
Despite the hustle, despite the businesses, despite the late nights, I still felt like something fundamental was missing.
The Secret I Had Overlooked
While studying high-performers, I noticed something surprising: almost all of them meditated.
Meditation? Could it really be that simple?
Curiosity turned into obsession. I read about it, practiced it, and explored teachings from Sadhguru, Eckhart Tolle, J. Krishnamurti, and many others.
Then came the book that cracked me wide open: Autobiography of a Yogi.
When I discovered that Steve Jobs—the man I admired so deeply—had gifted this book at his funeral, I knew I had to read it. And when I did, it unlocked an entirely new dimension of my journey.
Questions That Wouldn’t Let Me Go
My search expanded beyond books. I experimented with meditation retreats, traditional practices, even unconventional ones like plant medicine.
And as I went deeper, the questions grew louder:
What is the meaning of life?
Who am I beyond my roles and achievements?
Is there a force guiding this universe?
What is consciousness really?
I didn’t yet have answers. But the journey itself was teaching me more than I could imagine.
Silence That Changed My Life
In 2019, I decided to attend a 10-day Vipassana silent retreat.
Ten days of silence. Ten days of meditating for 12+ hours daily. No phone, no books, no distractions. Just me and my breath.
And in that silence, something extraordinary happened.
It felt like a dam inside me had burst. Insights, clarity, wisdom—they all poured out at once.
When I returned home, I couldn’t stop writing. At 4 a.m. each morning, I meditated and then captured the words flowing through me. They took the form of letters—letters to my unborn son.
These letters became my book: Wisdom Worth Spreading.
Living the Words I Wrote
Publishing the book forced me to look inward: Was I living what I was preaching?
The answer was uncomfortable. Not fully.
So I let go. I stepped away from most of my businesses. I chose simplicity, presence, and freedom. My wife and I sold most of what we owned. With our children, we traveled extensively, lived spontaneously, and embraced a life unshackled by plans.
In 2022, I left behind a high-paying job in America and moved to India. I spent months wandering the northern mountains, visiting spiritual places, and finding solitude in nature.
The Courage to Walk a Different Path
This wasn’t easy. Society doesn’t always celebrate those who choose differently. I faced doubts, ridicule, and plenty of uncertainty.
But with my wife’s unwavering support, and a heart that refused to ignore its calling, I pressed on.
What I Discovered
Looking back at that night in Dallas, I feel deep gratitude.
Gratitude for the questions, the struggles, the risks. Gratitude for the chance to live beyond my wildest dreams—not chasing desires, but embracing presence.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
Fulfillment doesn’t come from accumulating more.
It comes from giving more than you receive.
From living authentically, in alignment with your values.
From daring to question, explore, and discover who you really are.
Why I Share This With You
I don’t tell this story as a guru with secret formulas.
I tell it as a fellow traveler. Someone who’s wrestled with restlessness, faced uncertainty, and found meaning through exploration.
And maybe, just maybe, my journey sparks something in you—a whisper, a curiosity, a restlessness of your own.
